The Power of Unity: Autocracy

Our featured film for January is the gripping German drama, “The Wave (Die Welle)“.

Based on a real-life social experiment, this film tells the story of a high school teacher who, in an attempt to teach his students about autocracy, creates a movement that spirals out of control.

It’s a stark reminder of how fragile democracy can be and how susceptible we are to the allure of charismatic leadership and group identity.

Throughout January, we’ll be discussing the themes of power, conformity, and rebellion.

Join the conversation by sharing your thoughts on The Wave and other films that explore these powerful concepts.

🤔What film has made you question the nature of power?
