About Me

Explore World Cinema: A DVD Collection Guide

Welcome to World Cinema with Anna (that’s me!).  I am passionate about the world of international cinema.  I will take you on a tour of my eclectic, world cinema DVD collection. Yes – it’s old-school physical DVDs with a DVD player!

I will be giving a deep-dive and analysis of my collection. More importantly, I will explain why you should absolutely watch these films!

In my day-to-day life, I am an EA/PA, Team Assistant professional. I have over ten years of expertise in Office Administration, Event, and Financial Management. I work in a fast-paced environment (yes, colour-coded calendars and all). However, I make sure life outside the 9–5 is full of good food, laughter, and balance.

First and foremost, I am a Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, supporter (sorry…NOT sorry!). Outside of work, I love discovering hidden spots around London. I enjoy exploring a variety of places. It could be a great brunch spot, a new exhibition, or a quiet park bench with a tea in hand. I enjoy cooking, especially for friends, feeding people equals my love language. I spend time reading everything from memoirs to modern fiction. Staying active with long walks, a bit of Yoga, or the occasional ballroom dance class also occupies my time.

Lastly, I have a soft spot for travel—city breaks, beach escapes, or just a well-planned countryside weekend. Music is always playing in the background, and I’m the type who makes playlists for everything.

I set up this little Blog as a hobby. My generous family and friends kindly supported and participated in it.

Unleash Your Imagination!

My Blog celebrates foreign language films, curated with a monthly theme that adds a fresh focus for readers. Each month, I review a film that aligns with the theme, from any language and region around the world. This is geared toward beginners and anyone passionate about films, languages, and the entertainment world. The Blog introduces readers to global cinema. It encourages language learning and cultural exploration. With accessible reviews, beginner-friendly recommendations, and engaging content, it’s a gateway to discovering the beauty of international films.

This blog is designed for adults (aged 18 and above) who are curious, open-minded, and eager to learn. These are individuals who have an interest in learning new languages, exploring diverse cultures, and discovering unique perspectives through film.

They may also enjoy traveling, experiencing new things, and broadening their horizons through global cinema. Whether they’re language learners, cultural enthusiasts, or simply film lovers, my blog offers something meaningful and enriching for them.

What sets my blog apart is its unique combination of language learning, cultural exploration, and global cinema. All tied together by a creative monthly theme. It’s not just about reviewing films—it’s about introducing my audience to new ways of viewing the world. I aim to immerse you in diverse cultural experiences. I also aspire to inspire you to see films as a gateway to learning and connection.

My deepest thanks to the people below for starting me on my Blogging journey.

CityLit – where I learnt WordPress and Writing Skills (writing does not come naturally to me). Also, Social Media Content Creation and Strategy – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter (X) and YouTube.

AIM2GROW – where I joined their A.I. Online Bootcamp online course with other amazing female solopreneurs. We are learning to leverage Canva, ChatGPT, Gamma, Invideo, Visla etc… in our businesses. You can see examples of me using these software in my Blog.
